CORPORATE IMAGE VIDEO -

Making Your Company Stand Out From the Crowd

Corporate image videos project the image of your company or organization. First, define the audience:

What can you show the audience or say to get their attention?
  • How can you hold their attention?
  • What do you want to tell them?
  • What do they want to know?
  • What action do you want them to take as a result of seeing your video?

Once you have answered these questions, review the following goals and keep them in mind during the next step:

  • The audience must want to see the video.
  • Once watching, they must want to see it all the way through.
  • The audience must get the desired message.
  • The audience must be motivated to take the action you desire.

A concept that takes the above factors into account and achieves the goals is the next critical step. Kern Video Productions creative team can help with the development of the concept and a strong script to build an effective video presentation. At the end of the video, one must always "ask for the sale", that is actively encourage the viewer to take the desired action.

Once a detailed script is complete, a shot list is compiled. The shot list is a complete table of all shots required to make the video. Along with the content of each shot is location and source of all resources needed. Shots are labeled and referenced in the script. The list is sorted by location and resources to allow shooting in the most efficient order.

Lack of attention at this stage can result in the need for retakes or pickup shots that must be done later, costing both time and money. One of the most common mistakes is the failure to anticipate an adequate number of shots to cover a piece of narration. To be safe, a new shot is needed at least every three seconds unless a process or other time consuming action is shown. Conversely, narration must be written in a way that allows time for action shots to be shown.

Like any other project, our goal is to provide the maximum production value per unit of cost. Spending a bit extra to get first rate graphics for logos, titles, and other elements can increase production value far in excess of the cost. A first rate narrator and better background music are also well worth the additional expense.

Richard Penner will shoot your corporate image video with our Sony D30 digital camera on Betacam SP stock. He and Norm Kern will edit your video in our real-time non-linear edit suite using our uncompressed Digisuite edit system to assure the highest quality Betacam SP master.

Most production companies keep the edit master and camera originals, forcing you to order all your copies through them. Our clients may purchase their camera originals and edit master for a nominal fee. We want you to order copies through us- our short run duplication is the best quality you will find anywhere. Rather than hold edit masters hostage, we like to earn your duplication business by charging fair prices and providing good service. If you need large quantities, we will recommend capable mass duplicators.
